Editorial policy
Open Cycling Review aims to make cycling easier to understand. We distinguish explanation from opinion, keep claims proportionate and make room for correction when a detail does not hold up.
Accuracy and clarity
Writers should use reliable, relevant sources for factual claims and check names, terminology and descriptions before publication. Articles should explain what is known, avoid overstating certainty and make meaningful limits clear. We do not present personal preference as a universal rule, nor imply that an article replaces professional or local guidance.
Independence
Editorial decisions belong to the publication. A commercial relationship does not guarantee coverage, a favourable conclusion or approval of an editorial article. Any material relationship that could reasonably affect how a piece is understood should be disclosed alongside that piece.
Corrections
If you spot an error, contact us with the article and the specific detail. We review correction requests and amend material when warranted; significant changes should be identified clearly so readers can understand what changed. We do not promise a particular outcome before reviewing the information.
Partner material and illustrations
Content created with a partner is clearly identified where it appears and kept distinct from independent editorial coverage. Some illustrations may be AI-generated; where relevant, they are labelled so readers can distinguish illustration from documentary photography.
A good ride begins with noticing
Cycling is a craft, a design story and a way of seeing places. We make room for all three, one clear question at a time.
